Volunteers are the heart of CAM!
Our volunteer program is run on a weekly basis by over 250 of our wonderful volunteers.

Group Volunteers

Acting, doing, serving, and loving others can be an incredible experience; we want CAM to be that for people in our community. CAM has opportunities for groups of all sizes! We invite families, churches, schools, local businesses and other organizations to join us for one of our CAMpassion Days! You can make a difference in someone’s life by engaging in one of these CAMpassion Days. These, usually 1-time volunteer opportunities, are available multiple Saturdays a month all year long. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mary Henderson at mhenderson@cam-sa.org.

~Saturday CAMpassion Volunteer Day Cancelation Policy~

We understand not everyone is able to volunteer during the week due to school and/or work. So, we allow people to come to our downtown campus on Saturdays and volunteer with us! Anyone can volunteer, we have no age requirement, and whether you’re an individual or part of a group, all are welcome!

Please know, we have a new cancelation policy we’ve put into place. We have several people interested in volunteering on Saturdays at CAM, however we can only take so many people at once. When people and/or groups cancel at the last minute, meaning the day before or the day of, that leaves us with no help on Saturday and too little notice to ask anyone else to volunteer. We completely understand emergencies happen, things come up that are out of our control.

But, if you know you won’t be able to make it during your scheduled Saturday volunteer day, please let us know at least a week in advance, 2 weeks would be best, so we can try and find another group to help us. If you need to cancel your scheduled Saturday volunteer day, please contact Mary at mhenderson@cam-sa.org to let her know.

Annual Volunteer Luncheon

CAM hosts a Volunteer Luncheon every year honoring our amazing volunteers for their hard work and dedication to CAM. We have over 200 volunteers that serve on campus on a weekly basis. Some of which have been with CAM upwards of 20 years! CAM has many different roles when it comes to volunteering, roles that fit every personality. We have client-facing roles where you can be front and center helping our staff and clients, but we also have more behind the scene type roles where you can work by yourself. We don’t have a rigorous training process, and we work with everyone’s schedules to meet individual’s needs. Our volunteers view CAM as their secondary home. They feel a sense of ownership when it comes to their role here, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of CAM, and we love and cherish each and every one of them!

How is CAM Staying Safe?

Even though CAM is open and operating, we have a plan in place to mitigate any harm or fear to our staff and volunteers. We’ve taken the necessary precautions to ensure mass safety on our campus.

  • We have gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, Clorox wipes and other cleaning supplies to ensure our campus stays as clean as possible
  • We are now providing services indoors while instilling the social distancing rule of 6ft or more, limiting the amount of people in our buildings and taking everyone’s temperature
  • We still have our outdoor hand washing station at our downtown campus for our clients to use. Clients will be asked to wash their hands before entering
  • We’ve also started hosting Bible Study again in our Chapel in a safe way limiting the amount of people indoors and social distancing
